Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma (IDC)
Description:
Patient with positive family history of breast cancer and ovarian cancer. September 2003 mammogram reported benign micro calcifications. August 2007 patient presented with a palpable mass in lateral aspect of left breast.
PROTOCOL:

Mammographic work-up demonstrated a 2.9cm spiculated mass in the 12 o’clock position. Surgical biopsy with path report of IDC Grade 2/3.

Bilateral breast MRI requested to evaluate extent of disease prior to treatment.

PATHOLOGY:
Left breast biopsy confirmed infiltrating ductal carcinoma with rare foci of ductal carcinoma in situ. Left axillary node biopsy confirmed metastatic ductal carcinoma.
